Occupation I was trained as a secretary during 1963 and then worked in various office jobs until the birth of my 1st son in 1973. I then worked part-time in store offices as my sons grew up, occassionally taking time off to be a paid home baby-sitter. When my husband, John, opened Electricland I worked full time for the family business. When, in 1982, the accountant wanted to use the new "personal computers" I went to college to learn the skills required (see below). After Electricland failed I became an Information Technology lecturer at the Technical College, tutor at the University of Canberra. In 1997 I moved in Information and Communication Technology Contract Management until I retired in 2003.
Residence Born in North Sydney, I lived at Mortlake, Ashfield, Manly Vale, Balgowlah, Dee Why, Cromer andNarrabeen in Sydney before moving to Canberra in 1974. I have lived here ever since.
Religion Ex-Catholic Agnostic but leaning towards Liberal Judaism
Notes

I was educated at St. Vincent's Catholic Primary School, Ashfield then Bethlehem Ladied College also in Ashfield. Both run by the progressive Sisters of Charity. I left school at the end of Year 9 the then Intermediate Certificate and attended West Sydney Technical College doing the Day Secretarial Certificate.

Although the only child in my family not to have the opportunity to complete secondary education and matriculate, I was the first to successfully complete a tertiary education .. a BA in Adult Education.

I have taught Programming and other Information Technology subjects to all levels of students from the totally computer illiterate to those taken advanced refresher or new areas of study. My students have been from all walks of life and all ethnicities. Some have been learning disabled, some held doctorates. I enjoyed it all tremendously and felt I made a real contribution to the development of Canberra's Information Technology expertise.

I have authored 2 works through Eastern House on C/C++ Programming (copies are held in the National Library) many in house texts for Canberra Institute of Technology and some texts for the ANTA National Forensic Science project.

As to the other areas of my life, of one thing I am sure. I have NO athletic ability or musical ability unlike my husband and sons. In fact my attempts at a mild jog around the block were the subject of great hilarity because of the lack of style etc. My interests lie in craft work of all descriptions, paleo anything to do with humans, genealogy (of course) and reading crime novels. I also don't mind the odd cryptic crossword and suduko puzzle.

Unfortunately, I have several medical problems Milroy's Disease (a hereditary lymphatic swelling of the lower legs), depression, mild bi-polar and epilepsy. None of them too any huge degree but all annoying and leading (via a workplace harassment case which I won) to retirement.

But the best things in my life are my husband, my sons, my daughter-in-law and my grandchildren Tegan and Shaun. They are all wonderful and I enjoy every minute in their company.
